Summary of brief
The client is female, in her forties and single. She relates to the tale of how within the past five years she had a serious health scare that she put down to not living an outdoor and natural life. She has recovered well from illness and is now feeling much stronger than she ever did.
However, her time laid up gave her a chance to take stock of her life, the natural world, and ecology. She became really interested in biodiversity, and warmed to the idea of having her garden filled with as many variations of life as is possible. The current space is mainly tarmac so it time to change that.
The final design
In the initial stages of this design It was key that i would need to create habitats throughout the space. Removing the tarmac and sterile materials. This design offers a haven for wildlife and key consideration as the link from the house to the garden. Using multi stem trees close to the windows of the house initiated the connection. With larger trees to the rear to add height and depth to the garden aswell and a home for nesting birds. The central wildlife pond creates a central focal point also giving a natural feel to the curved paths and they work around the space.
