About Lawn Wall Garden design

I'm Rob Smith 'PgDip', I studied at the British Academy of Garden design, graduating with a postgraduate diploma in garden design (with distinction).  I started Lawn Wall Garden Design to design gardens that are creative, functional and sustainable. 

During my time with the British Academy of Garden Design I learnt about all facets of garden design. From garden history to plant science,  design techniques, plan drawing, horticulture techniques and many other things that together make the design process creative, methodical and efficient. 

I have great understanding of how to make a design flow and how a well designed garden benefits you and your lifestyle. I use plants and trees to elevate your garden, utilising their form and shape to blend your space to its surroundings. 

A well designed garden offers more than just visual appeal. It should feel right and provide moments to be enjoyed throughout the year. This is your space so it should reflect you and grow with you.

I personally spend a lot of time in my own garden propagating, pruning and planting. I know the importance of soil type and how selecting the right plants and landscaping materials are vital to a garden performing as planned. I test soil at the start of the design process so I know what will work. I can also advise on how to amend and look after your soil as well as your plants. I am currently furthering my knowledge with the RHS, studying in more deatil, plant growth and development.
