Tradition, symmetry and elegance
Summary of brief
This traditional house demands an elegant garden to complement it. The client wanted the garden to feel special. They wanted to walk around the space and have areas to sit and enjoy it. There was some concerns about security to the rear with a public walkway on this boundary. The client wanted an area to grow their own produce and they loved the tradition styles and features seen in larger gardens.
The final design
The security concerns were quickly alleviated by specifying a large Hawthorn hedge to the rear and deep planting beds, creating privacy and a deep plant rich backdrop to the garden. The large gravel drive to the front also offers piece of mind as any vehicle driving onto the property will be heard. The tradition features in the garden elevate this space making this new garden feel like it belongs and has been part of the property for much longer.
